The “Mental Health First Aid Workshop” is a comprehensive 6-hour training program designed to equip participants with essential knowledge and skills to support mental health in the workplace. Participants will learn to discern mental health red flags and gain insight into common conditions such as stress, anxiety, and depression.

Emphasizing practical application, the workshop delves into the art of initiating mental health conversations and hones active listening techniques. Participants will acquire the ability to provide compassionate initial support and effectively guide individuals to the appropriate resources. Through engaging experiential activities, including role-playing and interactive exercises, attendees will have the opportunity to practice these vital skills in a safe and supportive setting.

Gerald Boh Boon Tiong

Gerald Boh is an experienced psychologist with a diverse background in psychology, counselling, coaching, and sport science. He holds the titles of Registered Psychologist and Approved Supervisor, recognized by the Singapore Register of Psychologists
(Singapore Psychological Society) and is also a Registered Counsellor affiliated with the Singapore Association for Counselling.
Gerald has significant expertise in crisis intervention, providing support to distressed individuals and their stakeholders in situations such as accidents, sudden deaths, self-harm, and suicide. He has conducted numerous workshops for ministries and educational institutions on critical incident management and psychological first aid. Currently in private practice, Gerald supports clients and their caregivers dealing with complex distress in school, relationships, and work. He specializes in workplace mental health issues and provides consultation to various corporate companies on employee well-being.
Before entering private practice, Gerald gained extensive clinical experience in healthcare, special needs, and educational settings, assisting children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly with a wide range of psychosocial and health issues. He has special research interests in depression, anxiety, and insomnia. As a Principal Investigator, his research study won an award at the Singapore Health & Biomedical Congress. Gerald regularly lectures on psychology, counselling, and disability and has presented at various conferences. Additionally, he supports psychologists and counsellors with clinical supervision, helping them provide quality psychosocial care to their clients.

Loh Li Nah has accumulated over two decades of experience in the academic and mental health fields. Li Nah is an accomplished SAC clinical member and registered counsellor. She specializes in supporting clients through a wide range of mental health issues, life stressors, and interpersonal challenges by integrating therapeutic modalities such as Schema Therapy and Mindfulness. Li Nah employs experiential techniques including breathing exercises, guided imagery, and meditation, alongside expressive art and narrative approaches to tailor her interventions to each client’s unique needs.

Renowned for her ability to make complex content easy to understand, engaging, and relevant, Li Nah excels as a trainer and supervisor for aspiring counsellors. Her comprehensive training programs focus on essential counselling skills, ethical practices, and effective crisis intervention strategies. Through her dynamic and interactive training sessions, workshops, and informative talks, she reaches a diverse audience, including corporate clients, parents, and adolescents.
