Honourary Patron- Dr Ian Tim Heazlewood

Currently Sports Science and Exercise Science expert and consultant with Sport Science Institute, Sydney, Australia.

Dr. Ian Tim Heazlewood, past Associate Professor at Charles Darwin University, Australia, is now retired from the tertiary academic sector. However, currently an active researcher, publishing internationally and a competing masters athlete at both international and national levels. Researched and lectured in higher education specialising in human movement, exercise and sport science for more than 33 years. Conducted and published original research in exercise and sport science for more than 40 years in international journals, international conferences and national conferences in sport and exercise psychology, exercise physiology, biomechanics, sports injuries, coaching sciences, and exercise and sport science curriculum development and implementation. Editorial roles and reviewer for international journals, held high level roles with learned societies and professional associations, and high level administrative roles with sporting organisations. He has also worked with private industry via major Australian sporting bodies in exercise and sport science and health-related research. Extensive coaching and research consultant roles for elite/high performance athletes, including past world champions, national and state champions and minor medallists across many sports, especially masters athletes. These sports have included international master’s sports, athletics, rugby union, rugby league, weight/power lifting, squash, Australian and NSW BMX, Australian cricket and NSW and Australian Touch. Currently undertaking research consultancy roles with Sport Science Institute, Sydney, Australia.
